We have compiled a list of the top ten things to do in Spain:

1. Rambling along Las Ramblas Barcelona

Travellers to the fabulous city of Barcelona are always drawn to the fascinating and fun area of Las Ramblas.  This main street is full of pavement cafés, street entertainers and open air markets.  Pre-book cheap car hire and discount car rentals from Barcelona International Airport before you visit.

2. Visit The Alhambra Palace, Granada

No trip to the south of Spain is complete without a tour round The Alhambra Palace in Granada. This Moorish fortress dates back to the 15th century and was built when Andalusia was under Muslim rule.  The Alhambra complex is composed of three buildings with extensive gardens which attract visitors from all over Europe. Cheap car hire is available at Malaga Airport if you want to visit Granada.

3. Run with the bulls in Pamplona

Not everyone´s cup of tea, and definitely not for the faint-hearted, is the Fiestas de San Fermin, held annually in the town of Pamplona. Every morning during the week of 6-14 July, six bulls are released into the narrow streets of the town.  Hundreds of locals and tourists try to out-run the bulls. Sometimes they succeed, and sometimes they don´t!  A week of festivities, fun and partying, even if you don´t take part in the bull run. For car hire without the bull, pre-book a cheap car hire deal from Pamplona Airport before you fly.

4. Visit Las Fallas de Valencia festival

The city of Valencia is one of Spain´s best loved regions.  Visit between 12 and 19 March each year, and you will witness the spectacular Fiesta de las Fallas. During the festival, fireworks flash through the sky as giant papier mache effigies are paraded through the streets.  Often these figures will have taken a year to build, and take the form of dolls or famous figures.  After judging takes place, on the last day, the effigies are set alight.  Much partying, celebration and all night music follows. Car hire in Valencia is reasonable and easy to pick up from the airport.  Visit the nearby beach resorts and make the most of your holiday.

5. Visit the Doñana National Park Huelva

One of Spain´s highlights for nature lovers is the wetlands of the Doñana National Park in the province of Huelva, western Andalusia.  This is one of the last true areas of wilderness in Europe, and the wetlands are home to 150 species of birds, wildlife in abundance and the imperial eagle and lynx. To tour round Huelva and Andalusia at your own pace, hire a care from the airport.  Carhire4airports specialises in cheap car hire in Andalusia and Huelva.

6. See The Prado Museum Madrid

Situated in Spain´s capital city of Madrid, the amazing Prado Museum attracts visitors from all over the world.  The Prado is home to the oldest and most prolific collections of art anywhere, and no self-respecting art lover would miss this superb exhibition.

7. Tour the Basque Country

The Basque country is situated in the north of Spain, and is an unspoiled area which offers the best of old Spain.  If you are looking for a quiet, get-away-from-it-all holiday, take a tour round this historic part of the country.  Car hire from Bilbao Airport is cheap, reliable and easy to pre-book with carhire4airports.

8. Take a tapas tour Seville and Granada

There is no better way to spend an afternoon in Seville or Granada than by strolling around the tapas bars in the centre of both cities.  Granada is the home of the tapa, and bars often serve a free taster with every drink.  My fav
ourite tapas bars are in Seville, where local specialities include: home-made tortilla, marinated olives, wild mushrooms with garlic and slow roasted pork with fresh herbs.  Try local wines to complement the food, while enjoying a lazy afternoon in the sunshine.

9. The Feria de Abril Seville

If you want to experience the passion and colour of real Spain, visit Seville for the annual April Fair.  Colourful processions, wild nights of partying, flamenco singing and dancing and parades of Andalusian horses, make this one of Spain´s most celebrated parties.  Seville is a vibrant city which never seems to sleep.  Loud, proud and passionate, Seville continues to attract millions of visitors a year to its lively streets. Seville cheap car hire can be pre-booked at the airport, and you can explore this amazing city at your own pace.

10. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

The Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, has been described as the ´greatest building of our time´ and attracted 1.4 million visitors in its first year alone.  Designed by Frank Gehry, once inside this post-modernist building, art lovers can view a host of 20th century masterpieces from Picasso to Rothko.
