Malaga Airport is the Costa del Sol´s main airport, and nearly 13 million passengers passed through its doors in 2008. Both scheduled and chartered flights from across Europe fly to and from Malaga. The airport is situated 8km south west of Malaga city, and just 5km north of Torremolinos. All of the coastal resorts on the Costa del Sol are served by Malaga Airport, including Marbella, Puerto Banus and Fuengirola.

Fast food outlets plus a cafe/bar and a large buffet style restaurant can be found in the departure halls plus a wide range of duty free shopping. A pharmacy is also located in Terminal 2 downstairs. Two VIP lounges with fax and telephone facilities are situated in Terminal 2. Disabled parking spaces are widely available and you should advise your airline in advance if you have any special needs. Information points are located in the arrivals hall of Malaga Airport and at departures in Terminal 2. All of the major airlines who fly to and from Malaga are represented in the departure hall. Car hire at Malaga can be found downstairs from the arrivals hall. Another major terminal is being added to Malaga Airport and the renovation and reformation is expected to be complete in 2010.
